Re: Battlefield 3
Some snipers are absolutely ridiculous in BF. Problem with sniping in core game modes is that it takes two shots (not including headshots) to kill someone, which is uber-annoying especially considering rifles such as the M95 are wayyyyyy powerful. Hardcore mode is WIN for sniping - more realistic. There's a great map for sniping - Isla Innocentes (usually only found in Rush mode). In the first stage of it as an attacker, I hide behind these rocks at the edge of the first island which gives a great view of the defending island - and everyone in the enemy team. Needless to say it has lead to numerous examples of PWNAGE

Hmm hardcore more...not actually played that yet, didnt think...shit!
Still prefer Conquest over rush, just tend to have more fun in it, especially when your with an organised bunch.

Re: Battlefield 3
I would agree, Conquest is much more fun and focused than Rush - too many people just going into it to focus on getting their kill/death ratio up rather than going for objectives. Hardcore mode is good for the likes of Rush but I reckon Conquest would be a nightmare on it due to its craziness!

It appears they both have it now for the same price - £39.99. Either way, will get it the day before release and some extra practice in before everyone else ends up getting it FTW! The standout moment for me in the trailers was the tanks moving across the desert - somehow it just looked awesome!

Shoot down some choppers FTW! Speaking of which, some guy managed to do just that to me yesterday on Port Valdez - got myself a few kills with the chopper before being blown out of the sky from ONE shot!

Epic Win!!!!!!! This means more Battlefield time and it gives me time to save for Halo Anniversary!
Obviously they decided to get it out a bit earlier to nick some sales off Modern Warfare 3

Yeah I can see both camps moving dates forward to see who can get most sales.
I reckon theyll run the army/fps types into the ground though, only so many ways you can make an FPS with a gun.

Re: Battlefield 3
Honestly, Call of Duty has already done that - in the past when I saw campaign trailers, I had a degree of interest. In MW3, nothing. At least with BF3 it's taking things to the next level with destruction etc plus it looks awesome. More Sci-fi shooters like Halo needed though, something that's different and can create its own universe and story, as well as awesome guns!

Re: Battlefield 3
Itll be interesting to see the first week sales figures of these two games. Its aimed at the brain dead gamer who wants to play online with his mates and others, but I think after Black Ops people started to realise that all the FPSs about were identical, and there was no point spending 40 quid to play the same game online again, when you can just stick to what you already have.
The single players are dire though, BF2s is ok, not completed it yet but cant see me doing it any time soon, theres nothign special about it - go here - shoot him - run - get to this point. Characters are funny enough but its not a "game" if ye know what I mean, its more "if your offline, heres something else you can shoot at" kind of thing.
There's a certain FPS that came out with the N64 that was, still is, and will always be the greatest FPS there ever was.

Re: Battlefield 3
Interestingly that Dr Doak there is the same David Doak who made Goldeneye, and went on to make the Timesplitters series - aside from Goldeneye, probably one of the best multiplayer games ever!
Must be said though, I am buying BF3 for its multiplayer. I'll play the story mode to see what its like but multiplayer is where its at in BF

Re: Battlefield 3
Yeah BF3 for destructive multiplayer, jet fighting, more tanks and massive maps including the likes of paris will do me. Brother got BF2 the other day, to play Multiplayer he needs a 1.8gb download update...our connection cant handle it - interesting thing with PS3 that the Xbox has - if i get cut off downloading, itll resume from where it was at, but my brothers PS3 has to start from scratch, seems a bit silly.

Aye ps3 is ridiculous when it comes to updates and downloading and installing etc. Apparently you have to install every game to the hd before you play it?

Couldnt tell you, but it cant save incomplete downloads...even Windows XP can do that, and it came out in 2001.
